Tar Beach

Tar Beach is a great story about a girl who imagines herself flying. She loves when her family and their neighbors eat on the rooftop and look at the George Washington bridge. The pictures are amazing and they show great detail.
My favorite part is how she can imagine things and almost make them come alive. When my teacher read it to me I could tell that it had to be a bestseller. Anyone can relate to this book. The only thing that was sad was when her dad left.
